Ume (plum) blossoms, are known as Japan’s second popular flower after cherry blossoms. They start blooming when the winter snow still remains, so people call them “Kakei”, meaning that they are the “older brother” of all other flowers. They are often used for Japanese new year and other special events.

At LITTLE TSUMAMI, we use pure silk (Shouken) with Urushi color known as Japanese lacquer, for “Koubai” the red flower, and “Hakubai” the white flower.

This product looks great under a cold winter sky or at any special occasions.
