Kiu Kujaku is a peacock known to “take away people’s pain and bad luck” because they eat poisonous living matters. They are also known to “take the three kleshas which poison the heart of mankind. These are “greed”, “anger” and “ignorance”. Because of this, Kiu Kujaku is a subject of faith in Hinduism and Buddhism.

There is another story that peacocks can predict when it’s going to rain.
